Good Ol’ Cookie

I never trusted dessert.

Most of it is sugar pretending to be something. Empty. Forgettable. The kind of thing you finish and immediately wish you hadn't. I stopped eating it for a long time. Every calorie I ate, I wanted it to mean something — and dessert almost never did.

But a cookie is different. A cookie shows up on the worst day and somehow fixes it. It puts strangers at ease. It makes people smile before they've even taken a bite.

So I made one. The best ingredients I could find. One recipe. Refined until it was undeniable.

It came out so good I couldn't keep it to myself. I took it to the street. Handed it to strangers. Watched their faces.

They'd take a bite. They'd stop talking. Then they'd look at me a little differently.

So I kept going. Nothing else on the menu, nothing else in the case. Just the cookie.

This is the standard now. For every calorie you'll ever spend on dessert.
